The burial ground is at the top of what we now call the meadow where there are many beautiful old trees. The meadow is treasured by members and appreciated by visitors. However as Friends we are engaged in activities both local and worldwide which we wish to share with others who are interested so we are currently seeking to make our premises more accessible and beneficial to a wider community.
History of Amersham Quaker Meeting House
Amersham Friends first met for worship in their own houses at the beginning of the 1660's. The orchard in which the Meeting House now stands was used as a burial ground. By the end of the decade, Meetings were probably held in the cottage which dates from about the 1620's.

The Meeting House itself was built by extending the cottage first in the 1680's and again about a hundred years later. A kitchen and toilets were only added in 1957! The larger part of the building is Grade 2 Listed and therefore of considerable interest to visitors to our old coaching town.
