2011 National Quaker Week takes place 1-9 October. This year's theme is 'Make Peace a Way of Life'.Planned events include the Quaker Theatre Company performing at the Amersham Quaker Meeting House as part of their autumn tour. They will be performing the two man show: 'George Fox and Margaret Fell Get Stuck in a Lift'. The play, although light-hearted in tone, asks some pertinent questions about Friends attitudes to the peace testimony and the way we conduct our personal lives. George and Margaret are recently divorced but get stuck overnight in a lift together. Unable to escape, they are forced to examine the reasons for the failure of their marriage and why their Quaker beliefs did not see them through. Day, time and ticket prices to be confirmed.
