Quakers in the Chilterns redesigned
Welcome to our brand new Quakers in the Chilterns site.
We are indebted to Kathy Jay who has revised, revamped, refreshed and relaunched it. We hope you find our new look exciting and easy to navigate. Please keep visiting us as we have plans to keep it updated and fresh.
Quakers are a thriving society and offer a spiritual path that is simple, contemporary and radical. The experience of Quakers could speak to you.
News of our Quaker Quest project to be launched in the autumn will be made available through this site. If you live within a 10 mile radius of Amersham in Buckinghamshire this really could be of great interest to you. If you are prepared to travel further we would love to meet you. As you will see we have meeting houses in Amersham, Aylesbury, Chesham, Chorleywood, High Wycombe, Jordans and Slough.
Check us out - regularly.
Update on Jordans Meeting House
All the necessary demolition work has been completed and scaffolding is currently being erected. This will support a tin roof to protect the building from further weather damage.
Andrew Townsend Architects have been appointed to oversee the restoration and they in turn have appointed Structural Engineers and Quantity Surveyors to work with them.
In an attempt to make the best of a most unfortunate situation, we are hoping that some improvements to the building may be possible, e.g. new toilets and kitchen. These possibilities are currently being explored.
