Bookings:
All bookings are to be made with the resident wardens at the Meeting House.
Availability:
The premises are normally available from Monday to Friday between 9am and 10pm. Requests for bookings outside these times will be considered at the discretion of the wardens and Friends. The wardens would be grateful if hirers would consult them where meetings are likely to run late.
NOTE: If the Meeting House is required unexpectedly by the Friends - (e.g. a funeral or memorial service) - hiring arrangements will be suspended. If this should arise hirers will be given as much notice as possible.
Charges:
The list of current charges is available from the wardens, to whom all payments should be made at the time of hiring, unless prior arrangements have been agreed. Any cheques should be made payable to "JORDANS QUAKER MEETING".
Rooms:
Facilities include a large and a small meeting room, a foyer and a kitchen. These may be hired separately or in any required combination.
Kitchen:
The kitchen may only be used by those hiring the premises. Use of the kitchen includes a small cooker, water heater, utensils and crockery. Please note that the kitchen is equipped to warm food ONLY and NOT for food preparation.
NOTE: Children must not enter the kitchen.
Toilets:
Cloakroom and toilet facilities are available for use by all hirers. There is a toilet for the disabled and baby changing facilities.
Garden:
The garden may be used by special arrangement with the wardens.
Furniture:
When booking is made the hirer should specify the requirements for tables and chairs in order to ensure their availability.
Miscellaneous:
- Children should be supervised at all times by an adult.
- No animals (except guide dogs) are allowed in the building.
- Limited parking at rear of Meeting House at own risk
- Keys should be returned upon cessation of hire.
Damage:
It is expected that any damage to the premises, fixtures, fittings, crockery etc will be paid for by the hirer. Nothing is to be attached to any wall (by drawing pins, Blutac etc).
Maintenance:
In the interest of health and safety please report to the wardens any breakages, accidents, damage, lack of toilet paper/hand-towels/cleaning liquids/etc, and significant wear and tear insofar as it may affect the use and facilities of the premises.
NOTE: On no account should any fire safety devises (i.e. smoke alarms, extinguishers) be tampered with. Please report any signs of tampering immediately.
Complaints:
Any complaint by the hirers can be addressed to the Clerk of the Premises Committee, Slough Meeting. The wardens can supply the name and telephone number of the Clerk.
Smoking:
Smoking is not allowed throughout the premises, including toilets, and hirers are asked to respect this rule.
Food and Drink:
Food and drink should not be taken into the Meeting Room at any time, but may be consumed in other rooms.
No alcoholic beverages are to be consumed on the premises.
It should be noted that facilities for food preparation are not available and not permitted; further details of existing facilities are available from the wardens.
Before you go:
Hirers are asked to ensure all heaters (except night-storage heaters in the classroom); cooker, lights etc are switched off before you leave.
Furniture should be put away neatly, as it was found.
All surfaces should be wiped clean, and rubbish disposed of. If necessary the floors should be cleaned using appliances kept in the storage cupboard in the classroom.
All toilets should be checked and left in a reasonable conditions. Hirers should make sure that all windows are shut securely, and all doors are locked when they leave, either using the keys provided (for some regular hirers), or by notifying the wardens that they have finished and are leaving.
